I have very recently worked with an HP Microserver Gen8 using exactly this "Dynamic smart array B120i raid". Reconfigure your BIOS, move away using the RAID mode, use the AHCI controller mode instead. For this HP Microserver, I had to go to the BIOS along the following tree:System Options / SATA Controller Options / Embedded SATA Configuration
: set to "Enable SATA AHCI Support"
Be careful, your BIOS may be different.
I agree with blumi that RAID (and this machine) is a bit of overkill for IPCop. Save your configuration file properly, and you are done! http://www.ipcop.org/2.0.0/en/admin/htm ... ackup.html
With that configuration file, you are able to bring up whatever new IPCop hardware between less than 5 minutes (requires some training
) and 20 minutes (if you are new to IPCop and Linux installations).
For the NICs this may help you https://translate.google.com/translate? ... 6t%3D29185
Thanks to wintermute for the idea wrt this automatic translation approach!
